Five Things Buyers Should Confirm Before Placing a Small Winter Outerwear Order

By Y&J International Limited · FW26 buying guide

A small opening order can help a retailer assess fit, fabric and customer response before committing more stock budget. But a low minimum order quantity is only one part of the decision.

Before ordering winter jackets or coats in small quantities, confirm five things: trial-order conditions, pricing and freight, product specifications, size and colour availability, and dispatch arrangements.

1. What does a small trial order actually allow?

Ask whether the minimum applies to the whole order, each style, each colour or each size. Also check whether your preferred combination is available.

For Rihunik in-stock items ordered through Y&J International Limited, there is no minimum order quantity: orders can start from one piece, subject to stock confirmation.

Use the first order to answer a specific buying question. You might want to assess a jacket’s fit over knitwear, compare two fabric options or see how a colour works with your existing collection.

If you intend to reorder, ask about availability again before making further commitments. An opening order does not reserve future stock.

2. What will the order cost, including freight?

Compare the quoted product price together with shipping costs. On a small order, freight can materially affect the cost per garment.

Y&J’s Rihunik FW26 wholesale price list quotes prices in EUR including VAT and is valid through 31 January 2027. Shipping is additional and paid by the customer. The applicable price, freight charge, trade terms and the VAT treatment applicable to your order must be confirmed in the quotation.

To obtain a useful quote, provide the delivery country, postcode and proposed order quantities. Confirm the payment method and total amount payable before proceeding. PayPal and bank transfer are accepted under the current ordering guide.

Treat the recommended retail price as a reference for positioning, rather than a guaranteed selling price or margin.

3. What information supports the fabric and function claims?

Ask for specifications for the exact style and configuration you are considering. Useful details include the outer fabric composition, lining, padding, detachable components and care instructions.

For winter outerwear, distinguish between how a garment looks and what its documentation supports. A padded appearance alone does not establish a temperature rating. A water-repellent zip does not establish that the complete jacket is waterproof.

If rain protection or warmth is central to your purchase, request the relevant product information and any available test evidence. Check which fabric, component or finished garment the evidence covers.

For Rihunik, specifications should be checked against the product documentation for the exact style. Waterproof performance, warmth ratings and temperature suitability should not be assumed across the collection.

4. Are the right sizes and colours available?

A style may appear in a catalogue without every size and colour being available when you order.

Confirm the style code, configuration, colour code, size and quantity for each item. Where fit matters, request garment measurements and clarify whether a chart shows body measurements or finished-garment measurements. Consider the room your customers will need for winter layering.

Use product images as a visual reference, and ask for clarification if the pictured colour differs from the listed option. Do not assume that a brand’s size labels directly match the sizing your customers usually buy.

A useful trial assortment should reflect your store’s customers, rather than simply the combinations that are easiest to order.

5. When will the goods be dispatched—and when might they arrive?

Separate the dispatch arrangement from the estimated delivery time.

For confirmed Rihunik in-stock items, Y&J’s current ordering guide states that shipment is arranged from Milan within 72 hours after payment is received. This is not a guaranteed arrival time.

Before paying, confirm the delivery address, shipping charge, proposed transport service and estimated transit time. If you need the goods for a particular selling date, state that date at the quotation stage and ask whether the proposed schedule can meet it.

Also clarify how any stock changes or unavailable items will be handled before the order proceeds.
